Joshua was in his first Christmas program this past Sunday. Jim and I were happily surprised that Josh was old enough to be a Blue Angel at our church. He has been learning Away in a Manger and some hand motions to go through it.
We've developed a range of curiosities of how Josh would behave come show time. Sometimes he refuses to do it: "no 'way manger!" Or he will want EVERYONE around him to participate "do dis..." And his latest thing was to lay down, since the song is about sleeping. Then of course there was the fear that he would see one of us in the audience and cry or run to us or both.
So we carefully plotted out our attack, with Jim taking Josh to the church to get into his costume. I met the grandparents in the sanctuary where we picked seats that we hoped would conceal us enough while allowing a decent view of the performance at the same time.
Everything worked out perfectly. Josh did great and I cried with pride throughout the whole thing.
Here are some videos of his performance. Josh is in the first row, second from the left. In the second video you will see him receiving some personal assistance.

This was my first (and quick) time editing videos, so I apologize for the choppiness.
